Description
Performs a variety of duties in shop and yard; and occasionally at field job sites. Perform preventive maintenance of equipment & forms; operate yard equipment; loading of trailers, material handling, and fabrication tasks and truck deliveries to job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Material handling and general activities involving carpentry and piping
- A variety of welding and simple fabricating functions
- Shop and yard maintenance and clean-up and organization
- Maintain and organize forming systems
- Operate arc and gas welding equipment, grinders, sanders, and saws
- Operate shop and yard equipment, variety of hand and power tools
- Operate Forklift (load and unloading of trailers and shelves)
- Install fabricated items when required
- Perform equipment maintenance
- Help maintain office and shop buildings
- Help pre-fab jobsite materials
- Occasionally deliver material to jobsites
- Must comply with all company safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements:
- Prior construction experience and knowledge desired
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must have basic fabrication skills
- Must have a good driving record
- Must have basic carpentry skills
- Proper use and maintenance of power and hand tools
- Must have basic blueprint reading skills
- Basic mathematical and mechanical skills
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to climb and work to 30' heights
- Ability to occasionally lift 100#
Minimum Qualifications Required at time of Application:
A high school diploma or GED. Ability to handle multiple tasks and have a positive attitude.
