Position Summary and Essential Functions: The Safety Manager is responsible for assisting the Safety and Process Improvement Director to develop the company’s Safety/Quality Program in conjunction with implementation of changes to internal processes.

- Safety Leadership: Serve as the on-site safety resource, ensuring compliance with Staab’s safety policies, OSHA, DNR, EPA, and other regulations. Conduct jobsite safety reviews, hazard training, and incident investigations. Lead safety training for new hires and maintain training records.
- Incident & Risk Management: Investigate and manage incidents, near-misses, and workers’ compensation claims while recommending preventative measures.
- Training & Development: Deliver safety and compliance training across all staff levels, create training materials, and participate in pre-job safety meetings.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Safety & Process Improvement Director to identify and implement best practices that improve safety, productivity, and efficiency across job sites. Capture lessons learned and standardize processes.
- Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure all safety postings, SDS programs, and policies remain compliant.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred. Prior construction safety experience required. Experience with water/wastewater treatment facilities is a plus.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management, and workers’ compensation. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- 60% field, 40% office.
- 40–45 hours/week, valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs as needed.
- Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to our job sites to allow for regular travel as needed
